The Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Dr. Adewale Omirin, has alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party members in the assembly connived with Governor Ayodele Fayose to import three thugs to form a quorum at Monday’s sitting.

According to Omirin, none of the 19 members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, attended the “illegal sitting”, where three commissioner-nominees were confirmed for appointments.

The Deputy Speaker, Taiwo Orisaleye, said he and a few other members of the APC lawmakers were barred from gaining access to the Assembly Complex by security operatives.

Addressing journalists on Monday night in Ikere-Ekiti, the speaker said two members of the Assembly, Boluade Kehinde, and Olasehinde Ogunrinde, who are members of the APC had gone underground because they had been declared wanted.

The Majority Leader, Mr. Churchill Adedipe, who shed more light on the development, said, “Today is Monday, we were supposed to be at the parliament. Some of the lawmakers that went to the Assembly were turned back”.

According to him, the confrontation of the lawmakers by the governor is needless.

He said, “This will not make us to work with the Governor. It is by working with him that will make us guide him to sanity.

“We will not allow a particular individual to move the state backward. We can’t have a maximum ruler. He led some people to invade the judiciary, now he has invaded the Assembly.

“It has been a race of illegality where some people will not have respect for the rule of law”.

Omirin told journalists that power supply to his official residence had been disconnected, adding that the governor had also stopped his allowances.
