Pedro scored a hat-trick in Barcelona’s 8-1 humiliation of third-tier Huesca in the second leg of their Copa del Rey round of 32 tie.
Sergi Roberto, Andres Iniesta, Adriano, Adama Traore and Sandro complemented scores to help the Catalans advance into the last 16 by a 12-1 aggregate win. Galvez Burgos scored Huesca’s consolation.
Barcelona will next play either Elche or Valladolid in the round of 16, where they join fellow La Liga rivals Real Madrid, Sevilla and Valencia.
Pedro proved he has the qualities to compete with Luis Suarez for a first-team shirt by opening scores via a header, despite being off balance. He then sent a neat left-footed shot into the net and completed his treble before the 23rd minute. He has now scored five goals this season.
