Real’s Khedira Leaves Hospital After Receiving Treatment For Concussion

Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has left hospital following a head injury during Tuesday night’s 5-0 thrashing of Cornella.

The returning German international fell awkwardly after a collision with Cornella midfielder David Garcia and was replaced early in the second half of the Copa del Rey return leg match at the Estadio Santiago Bernebeu. Real won 9-1 on aggregate to set-up a last 16 tie with the winner of the 4th round clash between L’Hospitalet and Atlético Madrid.

The 27-year-old suffered concussion and was admitted in a hospital, where he spent the night under observation.

Real tweeted: “Following neurological exams performed on Sami Khedira today, the player has been discharged.”

Khedira is expected to be available for the weekend as Real host Celta Vigo in the Spanish La Liga. The Los Blancos are top of the standings, two points ahead of their closest rivals Barcelona.
