Ex-Switzerland midfielder, Steven Ukoh has linked up with Super Eagles ‘B’ team in Abu Dhabi ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) warm-up against Cote d’Ivoire on Monday, 12 January.
The FC Biel stalwart recently switched his international allegiance to represent his native country, Nigeria, after playing for the Switzerland youth team.
Ukoh is the 20th playing member of the Eagles squad currently in the United Arab Emirate (UAE) for an international friendly against 2015 Afcon-bound Ivory Coast and Sudan.
Nigeria will play Sudan five days after the opening friendly warm-up with Cote d’Ivoire.
The coach Daniel Amokachi-tutored side arrived in the UAE on Friday morning at about 5:30am local time, which is 2:30am in Nigeria onboard an Emirates Airliner.
After airport formalities the team took a jolly bus ride from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, a journey of about an hour.
They are lodged at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Abu Dhabi and will have their first training by 7:30pm local time, which is 4:30pm in Nigeria, to start preparations for the match against Cote d’Ivoire.
