Sergio Busquets will sign a new contract with Barcelona until June 2019, the Catalonia club have announced.
The Spain international midfielder has also been offered an option of a further year after completing the new deal.
“The contract will be signed on Friday lunchtime in the Club offices at the Camp Nou,” Barcelona said in a statement.
Busquets, 26, made his La Liga debut in September 2008, playing the whole 90 minutes of the side’s 1-1 home draw with Racing de Santander.
He earned his first Spanish national team call-up almost five months after his league debut.
With 313 appearances for the Catalans, Busquets has won four La Liga titles, two Champions League crowns, and two Copa Del Rey winner’s medal.
He has been capped 74 times by Spain, with the World Cup and European Championship winner’s medal to show for it.
