The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Board of Trustees Chairman, Chief Tony Anenih, on Monday said former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s exit from the party was not a loss to PDP elders.
He said the former president would not be missed.
Anenih spoke with State House correspondents shortly after attending a meeting of party chiefs with President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
It was learnt that the meeting with President Jonathan was ongoing when news filtered in that Obasanjo had publicly tore his PDP membership card in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, while announcing his retirement from partisan politics.
Anenih, who took over from Obasanjo as the BoT chairman of the ruling party, told journalists that “He (Obasanjo) has the right to leave any party and he has the right to join any party. He is a Nigerian”.
In response to the question if PDP will miss the former president and if his exit from the party was not a big loss, Anenih answered in the negative.
“Why should we miss him?” he said. “To us leaders, it is not a loss”.
Well said high chief. Nobody misses Obasanjo. Not Nigeria. Not even his offspring, Iyabo, Gbenga and others. The man is just a wild bull in a china shop.
I mean nobody cares if he is there or not because he is not relevant in anything now as long as I’m concerned he should go and rest, because he is not elderstatesman. There is nothing to learn from him.
Time will tell
Obasanjo is nothing but a crocodile in human form.. He has never been relevant in our democracy but just a disgrace exibiting an infant stateman
Really, did u just say you will not miss him. Why do u people keep on begging him when you know he will not be missed. LIERS. Anyways, we’re still watching.
