The Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the killing of its Commanding Officer in charge of Police Mobile Force (MOPOL), Superintendent of Police Chris L Eza, in yet-to-be ascertained circumstances by a police corporal in Bauchi town.
Confirming the development to LEADERSHIP newspaper, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed, said the MOPOL commander was shot dead while he was on routine inspection of officers on stop and check duty last night.
“The incident happened on the 26/2/2015 at about 23:20hrs, when the Commanding officer Mopol 10 PMF Bauchi, SP Chris L Eza was shot by a Police Corporal while on routine Visit at the Stop and search point along Ahmadu Bello way, Bauchi”, the PPRO recounted.
“The killed senior officer was rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) Bauchi, where he was certified dead by a Medical Doctor and corpse has been deposited at the Motuary for postmortem examination”.
It was learnt that the state commissioner of police, Mohammed K Mohammed and his management team, on Friday visited the crime scene where he ordered for full investigation of the matter.
Meanwhile, the PPRO said the police suspect has been arrested and detained while investigation into the matter continues.

the perpetrator of this act should be made known before the public by the police. supol EZA Chris was a notable figure for a corporal to kill. letting the family to be in mourning state is a great blow to we the members of the family and the government of Delta state .
