Rivers PDP Uncovers Plan By Amaechi To Flee After APC Loses Polls

Rotimi-AmaechiThe Rivers State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, says it has uncovered clandestine moves by Governor Chibuike Amaechi to sneak out of the state when the All Progressives Congress, APC, loses the March 28 and April 11, 2015 general elections.

This, the PDP argues, is an act of cowardice, because it proves that Amaechi is lacking the spirit of sportsmanship, which is the hallmark of a good leader and politician.

In a statement signed by Jerry Needam, the Special Adviser on Media to the State party chairman, Felix Obuah, the Rivers PDP said Amaechi’s discomfort with the PDP governorship candidate, Nyesom Wike, succeeding him and his preference to seek political asylum outside the country in the event of PDP’s sure victory, raises a moral question on his integrity and claim for transparency.

According to the statement, if he (Amaechi) has nothing to fear for which he wants his surrogate, Dakuku Peterside to cover up for him, there will be no need for the anxiety that has gripped him when the elections are yet to hold.

”This is simply suspect, the PDP reasons, warning that all Rivers people, contractors, creditors, consultants and business partners of Amaechi should take note as the PDP government is not ready to inherit any debts incurred under fraudulent and controversial circumstances when it has taken over office later this year”, PDP added.
