Yero Promises To End Insecurity In Birnin Gwari, If Elected

Mukhtar Ramalan YeroGovernor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero of Kaduna State on Monday promised to end insecurity in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of the state if elected governor come February 28.

The governor, who was on tour of Birnin Gwari to canvass for votes ahead of the upcoming governorship election in the state, assured the people of the area that though insecurity in the area had reduced, he would consolidate on the record and ensure an end to insecurity in the area, if elected.

Yero is running on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party and will face stiff challenge from former FCT Minister, Malam Nasir el-Rufai of the All Progressives Congress.

Birnin-Gwari has remained a flashpoint for robbers over the years and the state government has battled to dislodge them with little success.

The governor noted that the efforts by government to establish a joint task force on security had reduced crime significantly in the area, but stressed that more would be done.

Yero said, “I assure you that we will continue to take necessary steps to sustain security.

“We are all aware of the many years of security challenges in this local government but we thank God that since the coming of our administration the situation has improved.

“Anyone that says the problem of security in this area can be solved immediately is only trying to deceive people. It will take some time to be completely solved and we need the support of all stakeholders”.
