Warri Wolves Advance in Confed Cup, Up Next FC MK

Warri Wolves are the only Nigerian club that has managed to keep their continental campaign alive after playing out a goalless draw at Ethiopian club Dedebit in the Caf Confederation Cup on Sunday.

The Seasiders advanced from the first round of Africa’s club second-tier competition 2-0 on aggregate, thanks to their home win just over three weeks ago.

Wolves will now face DR Congo’s MK Etacheite (FC MK), who knocked out Al Ahly Shandy of Sudan in the same round.

Wolves were without the services of their defensive anchor and captain Azubuike Egwuekwe and goalkeeper Okemutie Odah, but efficiently sustained their opening leg advantage.

The Glo Premier League side’s next opponents FC MK first appeared in the Confederation Cup in 2014.
