Players and management of Glo Premier League side, Warri Wolves, have expressed gratitude to the Governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan, for providing cash for their journey t DR Congo for a Confederation Cup second round second leg tie.
The ‘Seasiders’ will face MK Entanchiete this weekend in a reverse fixture after their 2-1 win in Warri two weeks ago.
The Governor, who in his previous visit to the team prior to the first leg at the Warri City stadium had pledged to provide whatever remuneration that is accruing to the players this week, have also released funds to offset part of the salary arrears being owed players.
“We are very grateful to the Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, for bailing us out by given us the funds for the trip and he also made available money to pay part of the salary,” the club’s chief executive officer Davidson Owumi told reporters.

A 28-man Wolves delegation departed Nigeria on Wednesday afternoon for Kinshasa aboard Askai Airline through Lome and arrived in Kinshasa around 8pm. They have since settled down at the Hotel Belle Vie.
