Judiciary Workers Suspend Four-month Strike In Nasarawa

JUSUN

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) in Nasarawa State has suspended its four months old strike after it entered an agreement that culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nasarawa State Government.

Speaking to journalists, Tuesday, in Lafia, Jemo Musa, chairman of the union in the state, told journalists that JUSUN suspended the strike due to a commitment made by the government.

Although their demands have not been met yet, the union suspended the strike “because of the appeal and intervention by stakeholders caused us to shift ground for now.

“The government and other stakeholders of the union appealed to the union to call off the strike considering the ongoing financial crisis in the country,” the JUSUN leader said.

While calling on all members of JUSUN to resume work immediately, the chairman affirmed: “The government had also agreed to release to the judiciary all monies allocated to it in the 2015 budget.”
