Muslim Youths Burn Sharia Court In Kano

About 100 Muslim youths, today burnt a Sharia court located at Rijiyar Lemo area in Kano as they protest an alleged blasphemous comment by a member of Islamic sect Tijjaniyya, Malam Abdul Nyass. The court was scheduled to hear a case of blasphemy against ​the Prophet Mohammed.

The youths, who marched from various parts of the state held placards with inscriptions condemning the statement they claimed Nyass made against the holy prophet Muhammad.

SaharaReporters say its reporter saw the youths as they marched towards Mandawari and Dandago areas on their way to the residence of the Emir of Kano Sanusi Lamido.

Nyass, who is popular among the followers of Tijjaniyya was said to have made a statement against prophet Muhammad last week as he preached at Goron Dutse general area of Kano metropolis.
