Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has called on his family members, friends, political associates and well-wishers wishing to place congratulatory messages on his birthday, coming up on Sunday, June 14, 2015 to channel same to the campaign against cancer.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Habib Aruna, Mr. Ambode sought their understanding to respect his wish to use the birthday as his modest way of impacting humanity.
“As a modest way of touching the distressed and making impact on humanity, I have decided to associate with ‘The Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy’ in fighting the big war against cancer”, the governor said.
Consequently, Mr. Ambode urged interested persons to send such donations to the First Bank Account of CECP-Nigeria; No: 2026761622.
He said the project is being anchored by Dr. Christopher Kolade and Professor Pat Utomi and thanked the people for accepting his wish, assuring them that such gestures will be acknowledged and appreciated.
