Gbolahan Salami’s Goal Down Pillars

Gbolahan Salami scored the match-winning goal as Warri Wolves edged Kano Pillars in a rescheduled Glo Premier League fixture at the Warri City stadium on Monday.

Salami, who was among the goals for the Super Eagles in their 2-0 defeat of Chad in Kaduna on Sunday, converted a spot-kick in the 25th minute after he was brought down in the visitors’ goal area.

It was his fourth goal in the Nigerian top flight this season as Wolves now have 16 points from eight games.

The Seasiders had pleaded with the League Management Company for the match to be shifted, citing that the absence of six of their players on international duty.

Pillars have now suffered a fifth defeat in eleven games and have recorded 18 points from a possible 33.
