The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, RTEAN, has dismissed the contents of an advertorial sponsored by one Alhaji Sadiq Abubakar that the association got money from former President Goodluck Jonathan during campaign in the last elections.
Making the clarification yesterday was the association’s media adviser, Ambrose Inusa Sule, who said Abubakar was never its member and that his intention was to paint a bad picture of the association’s national president, Musa Shehu Isiwele.
According to Sule, Abubakar’s “unguided comments could mislead the government and public”.
He further explained that the union did not benefit ‘one naira’ from Jonathan’s administration and neither is the RTEAN’s national president standing trial in Federal Court of Appeal, Kaduna.
“On the allegation that Musa got money from Jonathan administration with which he used in campaigning for him, it is on record that Musa had consistently been saying at every forum; even before former president Jonathan left office, that he never benefitted one naira from his administration”, he said.
