A non-governmental organisation in Osun State, Federation of Informal Workers Organisation of Nigeria (FIWON) has called on security agencies to check the excesses of politicians in the state.

State Coordinator of FIWON, Olayinka Ibrahim told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Osogbo on Friday that the recent activities of some politicians in Osun had been a source of concern to the people and may destabilize the state.

“Security agencies must be on alert to protect lives and property and also to ensure that peace reigns supreme in the state,” Ibrahim said.

“The tension in the state capital on July 23 at Ideal Nestle Hotel created fear in many people.

“The police and other security agencies in the state should monitor thoroughly the activities of some politicians.”
