Ramadan: Emir Sanusi Pays N6.4m Fine For 40 Prisoners

Emir-of-Kano-Muhammadu-Sanusi-IIAbout 40 inmates of the Goron Dutse and Kurmawa prison yards in Kano State breathed the air of freedom, following the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II’s intervention.

The prisoners regained freedom after the Emir paid their fines to the tune of N6.4 million.

Addressing the inmates after their release, the monarch urged them to go and sin no more.

Sanusi II said he visited the prison as part of activities to commemorate the last ten days of Ramadan, when Muslim faithful are encouraged to increase their devotion to Almighty Allah.

Also speaking, the Comptroller of Kurmawa prison, Auwalu Umar Diso, expressed appreciation to the emir for his concern towards the plight of the inmates.
