Falcons Drub Hosts Congo In AAG Opener

Nigeria senior women’s national team defeated hosts Congo-Brazaville 5-1 in their opening Group A game of the Football Tournament of the 2015 All-Africa Games on Sunday.

Desire Oparanozie struck four times, with Chinaza Uchendu grabbing the Super Falcons’ fifth goal at the Stade Massamba Debat.

The win took the reigning African champions to the summit of their pool with maximum points from their opening game. They face Tanzania women in their next match on Wednesday.

Oparanozie had already completed her treble inside the opening 35 minutes to put the match beyond the home team’s reach.

She added her second late on before Uchendu completed scoring for the side.

The Falcons will play against Côte d’Ivoire in their final group stage game of the championship on Saturday.
