Power supply has improved in recent months in the country. This is because there has been no case of gas pipeline vandalisation which has been responsible for shortage of gas supply to the country’s gas-fired power plants.

Accoording to the Ministry of Power, no single case of gas pipeline vandalism has been recorded since President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office three months ago.

The Ministry’s Permanent Se‎cretary, ‎Godknows Igali, made this disclosure to newsmen at the Presidential Villa, Abuja while speaking on what had been responsible for the recent improvement in electricity supply across the country.

Igali recalled that vandalism of gas pipelines was recurrent in the last days and months of the previous administration, and reached its peak on May 26th when gas-generated electricity was completely grounded. But things have improved since then as the current administration had redoubled efforts at engaging communities where the pipelines pass through to allow peace to reign, a move he said, had resulted in increased gas supplies and improved power supply nationwide currently at 4,600 megawatts.

  1. I find your biased articles quite annoying. It is a common trend in Nigeria, electric power supply usually improves during rainy season and dwindles to naught during dry season. So before you start to sing praise wait until it’s dry season when there is little water in kanji dam, it’s then we would know if there is truly an improvement!!!
