The apex northern socio-political organisation, the Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, has declared full support for the actions so far taken by President Muhammadu Buhari to recover the nation’s looted funds.
It noted that Buhari’s determination to recover stolen funds was not in doubt, judging from the international support his administration had received so far.
According to the ACF, the steps so far taken by the president was in the right direction.
The Forum expressed the belief that Buhari’s move to recover looted funds would not only sanitise the system, but instill discipline in the conduct of public officers in the country.
The ACF made this position known in a communique read by its National Publicity Secretary, Muhammadu Ibrahim, after a meeting of its Board of Trustees in Kaduna.
The communique said “That the steps taken by the Federal Government to investigate, prosecute perpetrators and repatriate stolen public are not only appropriate and timely but will also sanitise the system and revive prudence and discipline in the conduct of public officers”.
In addition, the Forum carpeted the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, for its frequent call for the disintegration of Nigeria after 55 years of independence.
The ACF said it was particularly unhappy with the activities of MASSOB and other ethnic agitators and cautioned them against overheating the nation’s body polity.
The Forum further warned against what it described as unguarded utterances of some elder statesmen, which it contended were capable of causing disaffection among Nigerians.
According to the ACF, it is becoming increasingly embarrassing that some elder statesmen in some quarters are making unguarded utterances that could throw the country into chaos.
ACF added, “It was particularly unhappy with the activities of MASSOB and other ethnic agitators who are fond of calling for the disintegration of the country after 55 years of independence.
“ACF reaffirmed its belief in one Nigeria and the need for all hands to be on deck to move the nation forward”.
Meanwhile, the Forum has lauded what it described as the gallantry of the Nigerian military in its fight against Boko Haram.

But if u ppl truly believe in one Nig why is ACF has been ruling Nig? ACF has ruled Nig abt 38yrs out of 55yrs then leaving only 16yrs for the rest. ACF u shouldnt be angry for MASSOB actions because u havnt allowed them to rule the country u said is One!
I advice you ACF if you will not allow power to balance by allowing minorities to rule nigeria as suposed, mainly Ndigbo who hasnt since indepence ruled, allow them to go!!
