Governors To Meet Over Challenges Facing States, Nigeria

The 36 state governors will next Tuesday meet to formulate ways and measures of addressing the problems confronting states of the federation and discuss crucial issues of national importance.

The meeting would be held under the aegis of Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF).

In a statement, yesterday, by NGF chairman and Zamfara State governor, Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, the meeting is slated to hold at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja and is convened by the governor himself.

“The meeting will receive presentations from strategic MDAs and development partners regarding their proposed reforms and supports to states of the federation,” Yari said.

“The Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Federal Ministry of Health/World Bank, Nigeria Communication Commission, NCC, and the UK Department for International Development, DFID, are also to make presentations at the meeting.

“The United Nations Population Fund, UNFPA, and the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, NASENI, are also expected to make presentations at the meeting among others.”
