The Senator representing Bayelsa East senatorial district in the National Assembly, Ben Murray-Bruce, has urged the Federal government to reconsider its decision to ban use of Naira debit cards overseas.
The ‘common sense’ senator, in a series of tweets with the hashtag #PunishpoliticiansnotNigerians, pointed out that the policy would impact negatively on ordinary Nigerians with genuine reasons to use the Naira debit card for foreign transactions.
It would be recalled that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Monday ordered commercial banks to disable debit and credits cards for customers’ use outside the country.
1-If we must ban ATM card use abroad, why not ban it for politically exposed people like me instead of ordinary Nigerians that depend on it?
