The Federal Government and TUNS Farms Nigeria Limited, Osogbo, Osun State, yesterday, signed a N25 billion agreement on the National Egg Production Scheme (NEGPRO).
According to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, the pact has become necessary because the federal government was about to begin school feeding programme in which every child will be given an egg a day or at least three eggs a week.
The minister said the deal to be financed by the Bank of Industry, will enable the farm to create a network of poultry farmers’ out-growers scheme with a target of generating one million jobs and 50 million table eggs daily by 2018.
