The Ijaw National Congress, INC, has given the Niger Delta Avengers knocks over the bombing of pipelines and oil installations.
The National President of the Congress, Barrister Boma Obuoforibo, who spoke in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Tuesday, condemned the resurgence of militancy in the Niger Delta, stressing that destruction of oil installations was counterproductive.
Barr. Obuoforibo, therefore, urged the perpetrators to stop the bombing, appealing to the federal government to restructure the amnesty programme for better impact on the people and the community as to assuage the plight of the region.
He said, “The Ijaw Ethnic Nationality pledges its support to the Federal Government of Nigeria led by President Muhammadu Buhari. We are non-partisan and we will support any popularly elected Government. We condemn the present resurgence of bombing of pipelines and oil installations in the Niger Delta as this ultimately is counterproductive to the Niger Delta and the Nigerian nation”.
