Buhari Leaves For Chad Today

travel-buhari2President Muhammadu Buhari will join other regional and world leaders to witness the inauguration of President Idriss Deby of Chad, on Monday, the Presidency has said.

The president will depart Abuja for N’Djamena, the Chadian capital later today, to attend the ceremony.

This information is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.

According to Adesina, the president would be accompanied on the one-day trip by the Governors of Borno and Kano States, Alhaji Kashim Shettima and Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, respectively.

Also on President Buhari’s delegation, the statement said, are Senator Baba Kaka Garba; Tahir Monguno; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; and the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno.

“The President will return to Abuja after the inauguration”, it added.

It would be recalled that Mr. Deby, who has been the President of Chad since 1990, won the presidential election in his country in April of 2016 for the fifth consecutive time.
