Mayowa Ahmed, the cancer patient whose family took to the internet a month ago to raise funds for the treatment of their daughter, has died.
Mayowa suffered ovarian cancer and her family crowd-funded over N30 million in a bid to seek medical treatment for her abroad. The fundraising efforts ended in controversy after controversial blogger, Linda Ikeji reported it was a ‘scam’. Linda Ikeji has since apologised for the article.
A family member confirmed Mayowa’s passing today; “By Allah, in who’s hands our lives is, Mayowa Ahmed has left us in this world. We pray that Jannat becomes her home. She tried, we tried but God’s will prevailed”,
