On this day in 2015;No fewer than 31 civil servants, who cut across various ministries and departments in Ekiti State were  punished by Governor Ayo Fayose, for coming late to work. 

The governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, in a statement said Fayose’s visit which exposed the late comers, was part of unscheduled visits the governor would be paying to government offices

Also on this day in 2015;Former Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State challenged his successor in office, Governor Nyesom Wike to publish the statements of government accounts with Skye Bank, FAAC, Zenith Bank and Access Bank, insisting that about N7.5 billion cash was left as balance in the state Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, as at May 29, 2015, alongside money in other accounts, totalling N8 billion.

And on this day in 2015;An emergency National Council on Health, NCH, meeting was held in  Abuja following the outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, outside Lagos.

The meeting was the third in series since the outbreak of the disease in West Africa. This came as widow of Dr Ike Enemuo, who died of Ebola in Port Harcourt had also tested positive to the virus.

The NCH, which is the highest decision making body on health issues in Nigeria comprises the Minister of Health, the Minister of State for Health, all state Commissioners for Health and Permanent Secretaries Ministry of Health of the 36 states, and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
