4 Reasons Inter Milan Fired Frank De Boer

Inter Milan fans and the club’s new owners are finding out that change is simply not as easy as hiring a legend and spending money.

Having fired Roberto Mancini at the end of preseason, four-time Eredivisie title winner, Frank De Boer who has now been fired just after 84 games.

Here are four reasons why he was fired;

    • De Boer lost 7 out of 14 games in charge and lost most of Inter Milan’s home games. For a team aiming for European football, this sort of form is definitely worrying.
    • The Italian club’s new owners also allowed De Boer to spend considerably in the summer transfer window. Joao Mario was signed for £38m while Candreva arrived for £19; Gabriel Barbosa was also signed.
    • Mauro Icardi’s revelations in his new book couldn’t have come at a worse time as fans demanded he be stripped of the captaincy for insulting the fans. De Boer’s handling of the situation was one of the reasons he lost his job.
