Army, DSS Nabs Three Foreign Terrorist

The Nigerian Army on Sunday afternoon in conjunction with personnel of the Department of State Services arrested three suspected Chadian Boko Haram terrorist that belongs to Albaranawi faction in Gombe, Gombe state.

The three Chadian terrorist suspects, Bilal Muhammed Umar, Bashir Muhammed and Muhammed Maigari Abubakar were arrested at Arawa and Mallam Inna areas of Gombe metropolis.

A statement by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Usman said the three suspects are reported to be members of Albaranawi faction of the Boko haram that operates in Chad and mostly northern part of Borno state but came to Gombe state for another heinous assignment.

He said during the operation, one of them, Bilal Muhammed Umar attempted to escape but was shot on the leg adding that he was apprehended and is receiving medical treatment at the moment.

The statement further said the terrorist were also arrested with Improvised Explosive Device (IED) materials that they could have coupled and attack part of the state.

“The suspects are in custody undergoing preliminary investigations” the statement added.
