Fire destroys TV station in Lagos

A late evening fire on Monday destroyed the office of HipTV, a cable television station located on Ogundana street, off Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos.

The television studio of popular HIP TV in the commercial city of Lagos, went up in flames at about 5:30 pm on Monday.

It was gathered that neighours and friends helped to put the fire out pending the arrival of the Lagos State Fire Service.

The media company who posted the video on their official Instagram page, wrote; “HipTV Studio engulfed by Fire today at about 5:30pm.

“Neighbours and passersby helped with trying to put out the fire till the Lagos State Fire Service arrived. The cause of the fire is still being investigated. Observe the page for update.”

Daily Sun learnt that the inferno which started in the studio razed part of the building some transmission equipment before it was contained by the combined efforts of the Lagos State Fire Service and the neighbours in the community.
