It is definitely a black Wednesday today in Nigeria after the building collapse that occurred in Lagos.
The building located at Ita Faji, in Lagos island, had a school in it, and lots of young school children were/are trapped under the rubble. The rescue which is still ongoing has many Nigerians hoping that more victims are rescued like the few that have while praying for the families of those who have lost theirs.

My heart goes out to all the families that lost their loved ones in the Lagos Island building collapse. We must prioritise proper building standards over “Do it like that for me” property owners. @SONNigeria must also step up with regards to building material standards. RIP.

HARD TRUTH: Building Collapse WILL continue in Lagos Island UNTIL Govt takes these building standards seriously or to a 'very large extent' & 'developers' must be highly cautioned irrespective of "who u know".

It's a sad day in Lagos Island as a 3 storey building collapsed this morning.
I urge Lagosians close to General Hospital Lagos to assist by coming to the pathologic dept to donate blood voluntarily to help the wounded.
I just did.
Thank you as you help save a life

Growing up in #Itafaji, you can't even lean on the balcony of a three or four storey building, most developers on the island are shitty AF, all houses of that standard must be demolished, the government mustn't relent also, all houses should be checked thoroughly.

Lives of kids cut short for lack of standard, safety consciousness, care. I feel terribly sad about this. May the souls of the departed rest in peace and grant the bereaved the fortitude to bear this excruciating loss. Amen#Itafaji@tundefashola @AkinwunmiAmbode @jidesanwoolu
