Following reports that five persons were killed by unknown gunmen in a pre-dawn attack on Imo community, news has surfaced that suspected kidnappers have abducted the wife of the Anglican Bishop of Ikeduru Diocese, Anuri Maduwuike.

According to reports, the woman was on her way home from Owerri when she was kidnapped.

Eyewitnesses claim that the victim was ambushed at a bad spot by Ekemele and whisked to an unknown destination.

Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu, while confirming the incident said that her abductors were yet to contact the victim’s family.
