Soldiers Storm Lagos Community After Residents Seized SARS Officers Who Shot Trader Dead

Some men of the Nigerian army on Saturday stormed Jakande in Ijegun, Isolo local government area of Lagos state, over the detention of two operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad(SARS).

According to the report, some SARS officers had been taken to the palace of the traditional ruler in the area after a female trader was killed by a bullet reportedly fired by one of the officers who said to be chasing some suspected internet fraudsters aka “Yahoo boys”.

The men of SARS were said to have absconded from the area but were pursued by youth in the community and two of them were seized.

The ones who escaped were said to have returned with soldiers who fired into the air to disperse youth who lit bonfires in front of the palace where the SARS operatives were being detained.

The soldiers and some policemen are into the palace of the traditional ruler.
