Alleged husband killer, Maryam Sanda has been found guilty of murder by a Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja.
The court has sentenced the accused to death by hanging for stabbing her husband to death.
The deceased, Bilyaminu Bello, was the son of a former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Haliru Bello.
Police believed the murder was premeditated as Ms Sanda committed the crime with broken bottles at about 3:50am on November 19, 2017, following an allegation of infidelity against her husband after seeing a text message on his phone.
In January, the police charged her for culpable homicide and sought a death penalty against her on two counts.

Upon hearing the final pronouncement from Justice Yusuf Halilu, the accused fled the dock but she was brought back by court officials and prisons officials.
According to reports, Ms Sanda began wailing and shouting “Inna lilahi Inna roji hun”, after hearing her fate while her family and lawyer tried to console her.
The accused was also heard saying, “I was fasting and praying … Ya Allah, why?”.
Comment: Maryam Sanda should not die. It is true that she killed her husband the man was also the father of her two children. The killing was not because of hatred but that of love, where there’s love there must be jealousy. I don’t think she really meant to kill him but when you are annoyed anything is possible and you only realise it when things go wrong.
Think about the children they deserves Mom and Dad and dad is gone and must their only hope in life which is their mom be killed? this woman has been going through pains, sorrow , stress and hard time because of that thing she did. killing her will exposed her children to more pains , stress, sorrow and difficult time they will never appreciate the society. please let us help the children by saving their mom . The spirit of their late father will still want his children to be happy.
