According to reports, a fire outbreak has engulfed a section of the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri.
The cause of the fire outbreak remains unknown at the time of filing this report. However, the General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Mrs Henrietta Yakubu, described it as a bush fire.

According to Yakubu, firefighters are currently working to control the spread of the fire.
She said the incident did not affect flight operations.
Recall that on the 4th of April 2019, a fire outbreak was also reported at the airport due to electrical problems.
