The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on Sunday lost his mother, Hajia Hawa Bello.
Information Nigeria gathered that the governor’s mother died in Abuja on Sunday after a brief illness.
It was further learnt that her body is expected to be buried today in Okene, Kogi State according to the Muslim rite.
Late Hajia Hawa Bello survived with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, among whom is the governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
Governor Bello who confirmed this in a statement he personally signed on behalf of the family Sunday wrote, “With total submission to the will of Allah, on behalf of the family of Alhaji Bello Ipemida Ochi, we regret to announce the passing away of our matriarch, Hajia Hauwau Oziohu Bello who answered the call of Allah this evening after a brief illness.
“We are relieved that her passing was peaceful and painless. Her funeral will be held on Monday, 16th of March, 2020 by 10am at her residence in Nagazi, Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State in accordance with Islamic rites.
Until her death, Late Hajia Hawa was aged 101 and survived by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many adopted children.
Also, the Kogi State State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Abdulmumin Danga in a statement he signed on Sunday said,” With deep sense of sorrow, I received with immense sadness the Sudden death of our lovely mother Haj. Hawa Bello.
