The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the compulsory use of the National Identity Number (NIN), to obtain a driver’s license.

This is reportedly in a bid to complement the Federal Government’s directive to collate citizens’ data through the NIN.

The agency revealed this on Wednesday, December 16 in Abuja in a statement by Mr Bisi Kazeem, Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM), Corps Public Education Officer.

Kazeem noted that the decision was necessary following the Federal Government’s directives on harmonisation of citizens’ data by relevant agencies.

The FRSC official advised people going for their driver’s license processing, to adhere strictly to the directives.

Kazeem stated that there will be no waiver for anyone, adding that the development will help security agencies in data collation and quick retrievals, to address some of the nation’s security challenges.
