The Joint Action Committee of Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) will go ahead with its planned indefinite strike, starting from Friday, February 5.
The meeting between the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, SSANU and NASU on Tuesday reportedly ended in a deadlock.
The minister told journalists after the meeting that most issues raised by the unions have been addressed.
However, leaders of the unions insisted that most of their critical demands are yet to be attended to.
The striking non-teaching staff are demanding that their members be taken off the government’s Integrated Personnel Payroll Information (IPPIS).
