Niger State Governor, Abubakar Bello,

Alh. Abubakar Sani Bello, Governor of Niger State and chairman of the North Central States Governors Forum, has urged the people of the state to actively participate in democratic procedures that will usher in a new administration.

In a statement to commemorate Eid-el-Maulud, the governor urged people to participate in politics during the time leading up to the election.

He asked the Muslim Ummah to always be humble, tolerant, appreciative, caring, and loving to one another since these qualities are among the most crucial ones that ensure peaceful coexistence and the advancement of any civilization.

“The Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) had lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation by all adherents of the religion. I am calling all on them to use the occasion of the prophet’s birth and reflect on the essential lessons of his life and times,” he said.

Bello reminded the Muslim Ummah that humanity is fast losing its essence because of the obvious disregard for the teachings and practice of religions.

He explained that the Prophet’s servitude, exemplary conduct, and leadership qualities should serve as the righteous path which every leader and follower would want to follow.

According to him, “Indeed, our socio-political and economic well-being will be better of and the whole world a better place to live in if we imbibe the exemplary virtues and practically apply the teachings and practice of the noble Prophet (SAW).”

He also urged them to continue to be law-abiding, prayerful, patient, and optimistic that the present administration in the state and the country would continue to bring necessary interventions that would enhance the socio-economic well-being of citizens.
