La Liga: Xavi Breaks Zidane’s Unbeaten Away Record

Robert Lewandowski’s goal in the first half gave Barcelona a hard-fought 1-0 win away to Mallorca in LaLiga on Saturday.

The result means Xavi Hernández has become the first ever manager to play 18 away matches without a single defeat.

Xavi shot past the record set by Zinedine Zidane after he took over at Real Madrid in 2016.

While reacting to the record, Xavi said he hopes to win trophies with the team.

He said: “The record I just broke? I’m happy with the record, but I want to translate these records into titles at the end of the season.”

Since he took over Ronald Koeman, he won 13 away matches and drew 5.

Meanwhile, Lewandowski’s goal against Mallorca made him the fastest player to score nine Liga goals in the 21st century.
