EFCC Confirms Bobrisky’s Arrest, To Be Charged To Court Over Naira Abuse, Releases His Mugshot

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has confirmed the arrest of transvestite Idris Okuneye, better known by his stage name Bobrisky.

Reports earlier circulated that Bobrisky was detained at Pinnock Estate in Lagos State on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

 

The crossdresser was said to have spent the night in the EFCC cell.

Seun Oloketuyi, a filmmaker, shared the update on his page, he wrote,

“@Bobrisky222 According to reports in Porcheclassly was arrested by @officialefcc Wednesday afternoon and he spent the night in their Cell.”

Confirming his arrest, a representative identified as Dele Oyewale exclusively revealed to Linda Ikeji Blog the reason for his arrest.

He alleged that the crossdresser had been arrested for currency mutilation and abuse of the Naira.

He revealed that the internet sensation is currently in their Lagos facility and will be charged to court soon.

“He is with us. We arrested him over currency mutilation and abuse of Naira. He is in our facility in Lagos State”, Oyewale said.

Sharing a mugshot of the crossdresser on the EFCC Instagram account, the commission wrote,

”EFCC Grills Bobrisky for Naira Abuse
Operatives of the Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have commenced investigation of Idris Okuneye, a.k.a Bobrisky, for allegedly spraying Naira notes.
The EFCC had invited the 31-year old following a video report of spraying and flaunting wads of new Naira notes at the premiere of a movie, Ajakaju, produced by Eniola Ajao, a Nollywood actress and producer, at Film One Circle Mall, Lekki, Lagos on March 24, 2024.
Investigation also revealed that he had also committed the alleged offence at some other event centres and parties at different times.
Following the invitation by the Commission, he arrived at the Lagos Zonal Command of the EFCC in the morning of Wednesday, April 4,
2024 for interrogation and volunteered his statements.
