Ambode Expresses Commitment Towards Building Befitting Permanent NYSC Orientation Camp

Akinwumi AmbodeGovernor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has indicated his commitment towards building a state of the art permanent orientation camp for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in the state.

Towards this end, he disclosed that a plan was in the pipeline.

Ambode spoke at the closing ceremony of the orientation course for the 2015 batch A Stream 11 corps members at the NYSC Iyana-Ipaja orientation camp.

He said: “The Lagos state government will leave no stone unturned in working assiduously to ensure that the proper platform for youth development be in place and properly utilised”.

The governor also charged the corps members to accept their posting to the various places of primary assignment in good faith and assume duty in earnest.

Earlier, the state NYSC coordinator, Cyril Akhanemhe, stressed the need for a permanent orientation camp in the state.

The Director General, NYSC, Brigadier General Johnson Olawunmi, explained that the Corps’ Directorate was aware that the Lagos State Government was making efforts to provide a permanent orientation camp like some other states.
