Nigeria’s Senate has ordered an investigation into reports that the police failed to attend the scene of a brutal robbery, which left many dead.
Photographs of corpses littering the Lagos-Benin highway last week have been circulating on the internet and have been published by a local newspaper.
The victims were reportedly made to lie down in the road and then the bus driver ordered to run them over.
A police spokesman questioned why there was no outcry until the photos emerged.
Yemi Ajayi told Next newspaper that he was “puzzled” by the reports.
“We are already investigating the report. We have sent distress signal to the police command in Edo and Ondo States for adequate investigation to the story,” he said.
The reports suggest that female passengers were raped by the gang.
“I could not even look at the pictures and when I looked at the pictures eventually, I lost my appetite,” said Senator Ibrahim Ida.
“Where were the police? Where were the checkpoints?” he asked, reports Thisday newspaper.
The Senate held a minute’s silence for those reportedly killed.
Armed robbery is common in Nigeria and the police have a poor reputation.

This is a very callous act by the robbers.Nigerian Police is really a Disgrace,all d check point has been turn into 20 naira collecting point.i think Army should take over both the internal & external security of this country.
These are signs of the last days where mans inhumanity to man is on the increase. This is just fulfilment of Scriptural Prophecies. The fact is that incidence like this are inevitable in this era, we are in an evil age where evil is increasing.

its nots being moral or regular church attendance,its not giving offering or tithe,God doesn’t need our substance rather our hearts.
He’s more interested in Righteousness and a life of true Holiness,which he gives freely to those that sincerely seeke him.

It is obvious that we are living in a sinful world, a world that a man will wake up in the morning living his family to work and never returns, a world that road, sea and air are not saved a world tha has no respect for any body inrespect of the caliber. the only way we could live and find joy in this world is to come closer to God and make him our personal lord and savior .

oh! What a gruesome murder! What a demonic act has this satans in human nature done to their fellow human beings in the name of money. Nigeria police should investigate this matter critically and fish out the culprits and let them face the wrath of the law accordingly.

Also i will not fail to say that the bad eggs among the the police will not allow their work to be seen. Who knows whether this ones have bribe some police to carry out this inhuman act.
God is merciful and slow to anger. No wonder somebody said ” if i were to be god, i would have destroy all the humans because of their corrupt practices.
when are we going to be free? I say some police are not doing their work but rather they collect unlawful monies. On Akoka road, for example, between 9pm and 10pm, they collect money from motorist with force treating them with guns. Let say in one of those buses existed some gang of robbers, how will they be able to stop them.
Everyday is for the thieves but one day is for the owner.
God will surely save us.

It’s indeed a pity 4 d lost of lives. It is also embarrassing dat our Nigerian police were nowhere to be found during ds fatal incident. This police of ours should b probed and sanctioned because it is only #20 dey know how 2 collect from drivers. To stop thieves, na wahala. May God have mercy on d lost souls n also comfort their respective families.
Finally, the aftermath of this ugly robbery incident have rang a very loud alarm in the heads of the senate. I will not want to believe that the senate is not aware of more dreadful incidences in the past and if measures are not taken to curb it, will subsiquently occure. Nigerians are not safe on Nigerian roads, with this kind of situation, we all have to become deardevils in order to survive robbery attacks on our roads. Where is the police? This is the question on every tongue when such an incident occur, but i believe we are asking the wrong questions. The question should be: Why were the police not there? I believe this question will lead to more preventive measures rather than the former, where fingers will be pointed, and finally the blame will be gone with the wind.
May God almighty have mercy on the innocent souls. Amin.

Nigeria have plant there military,armed with sub machine guns among us in time of peace. Nigeria have used jamb to prevent our children from attending college. Nigeria have divided our land in form of state without our consent. Nigeria have sent armed mobile police to our main market and ordered then to open fire. We must be free from Nigeria . Our children must be free from Nigeria. Igbo don’t have to come to America to be free, we can be free in land of our fathers. If 3 million people died in the civil war we must fine the courage to finish that business. Am coming back to Nigeria to start a united Biafra state.we must be free.
