INEC disowns jobs placement on website

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday disassociated itself from a jobs application announcement placed on its website.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Mr. Kayode Idowu , the commission urged the public not to act on the announcement as the process for the recruitment had not been concluded.
He said the restructuring exercise that will determine the commission’s personnel requirements and composition is still on-going, adding that announcement on jobs placement will not be carried out until the exercise has been concluded.
He said: “The attention of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been drawn to a jobs-application announcement that has been sighted on its website. The commission hereby affirms that the announcement and the forms uploaded on the site were in error, because the processes for the recruitment are not yet concluded. Already, the commission has pulled down the said announcement.
“While the commission appreciates the interest of many to make a career in its system, the process of restructuring that will lead to the determination of its personnel requirements and composition is on-going.
“When the time is ripe, the INEC will announce as appropriate and will sufficiently alert the public on this.
“The Commission hereby restates its vision to become one of the best Election Management Bodies in the world through a sustained process of institutionalization and professionalization that will ensure a tradition of credible elections,” he added.

  1. I pray they will recruit before the end of this year. let it not be another way extortion of money form unemployed Nigerians as if have been in Government Agencies where they advertise for job that they have already share the vacancies to their workers relatives and people who bribe them and ask millions of Nigerians to buy scratch card for a job that is not more than 20 people for each state.

  2. Who then make such publication on website? That person should be punished in that office because a lot of people including me that is unemployed have wasted time, effort, and resources on this application .Anyway INEC chairman should make the publication faster so as to enable us who have interest to apply

  3. Rubbish!!, Rubbish!!!, Nonsense l said!!!!!. Do the Commission wants to tell us they can’t track the people involved in manipulating their Site?. What is the essence of the So Called SIM CARD REGISTRATION?. Because l am aware there is PHONE NUMBER on that Application Site. Why wouldn’t INEC Reference the Number to their service providers to track those that involved, for proper discipline. Rubbish is Nigeria!!
