He is most famous for his popular hit ‘Julie,’ a song that brought him into limelight in the Nigerian music industry. However, what most people do not know is that this reggae/dancehall artiste known as Shank, was influenced by no other than Tuface Idibia whom he has nothing but respect and admiration for.
In an exclusive interview with NET, Shank says ‘2face influenced all of us, ask D’banj himself let him not tell you the truth, he made boys know as a young man if you start a career in music it will take you somewhere, he was the guy who told everybody that you can do this, get up and make something for yourself’.
In the same interview, he talks about his growing up with Seun Kuti and how the Anikulapo Kutis influenced his music career.
Shank whose first Album ‘King Kong‘ had collaborations with Akon and D’banj, recently released his new single ‘Ghetto’ which is receiving massive airplay and rave reviews.
