Lagos teachers begin strike today

Statewide strike has begun among the Lagos state public primary and secondary school teachers. It was reported that the teachers vowed to go ahead with the strike since the state government had failed to meet their demands.

The strike was born out of a failed implementation of an agreement between the state Government Forum and the national body of the NUT as it was agreed the 27.5 percent Teachers Salary Structure (TSS) was coming into play. They plan to stay at home until their demands are met.
