ACN has actually failed to address its promises to Lagosians – PDP

Raji-Fashola8The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has debunked a claim by Governor Babatunde Fashola that his administration attained 89 per cent budget performance in 2012.

This was made known in a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Mr Taofeek Gani. The PDP said it was particularly surprised that Governor Fashola could boldly lay claim to such claims, “even when the state now realises over N40 billion per month as internally generated revenue and has collected over N16 trillion from the Federal Government since 1999. The state is now in debt of over N900 billion.”

According to the PDP, the few major projects being flaunted on the tour were not directly linked to the said budget but actually contributions of private investors, philanthropists, concessionaires, Federal Government and community associations.

“We wonder how the government of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Lagos State can award performance success to itself when it has actually failed to address its promises to Lagosians such as the fourth Mainland Bridge, rehabilitation of Isheri–Oke-Afa road, provision of qualitative and affordable education, affordable housing, payment of N18,000 minimum wage, provision of employment, potable water, qualitative and affordable health services, affordable markets, among others,” the party said.
