Until P-Square Stops Singing, No New Artiste Will Be Signed – Jude ‘Engees’ Okoye

BET and Centric Present "La Fete Noire" - An Evening to Celebrate the 2010 BET AwardsJude Okoye, CEO of Northside Entertainment/Square Records, has revealed that he is not about to sign any new artiste now or in the nearest future.

Jude, who is the older brother of Peter and Paul Okoye (Psquare), in an interview with Hiphop World Magazine said: “I don’t know about Peter and Paul but me personally I won’t sign any artiste until P-Square stops singing, that is the same thing I said when you asked me why I’m not shooting videos for other artistes, everyone that comes under this umbrella will start comparing.’

The label boss who is also an award winning video director added, That’s the reason why in managerial aspect and even shooting videos, people will definitely want to compare, so because of that I made up my mind that I’m better off on my own.”

Jude’s statement comes on the heels of media speculation that Square Record had signed producer of their ‘Magical Healing’ song, VTEK.

It would be recalled that Psquare’s first attempt at signing a new artiste –MayD – ended in controversy as he was dropped for being over ambitious.
