An Istanbul court, on Thursday, acquitted the Spartak Moscow forward of accusations of involvement in match- fixing during his time in Turkey.

Having been proven innocent, The AFCON 2013 winner has escaped one to three years of jail time and he claims throughout the whole trail, he never stopped relying on God.

“God has really worked for me; it is neither by my power nor anybody’s power but God. I have waited long for this because it was a negative on my career and thank God that everything has been cleared and I am happy again,” he said.

“It is worth a celebration, maybe I will think about that but I must give God the glory for clearing me at last.

“During the trial, I never panicked because I always believed I am not guilty, I don’t know anything about it, sometimes it took a while before such things can be proved right,” the Super Eagles forward added.

“It was a big lesson for me, even though the scandal had made me very popular on the internet, sometimes I laughed, sometimes I felt bad, but mostly I ignored the whole thing because my critics used that as an opportunity but God has answered for me.

“I will be looking forward to celebrate it with goals by the grace of God,” he concluded.
